For a long time I was turned off my popular Christian music. Even though I'm 25, I tend to lean toward the old, traditional hymns rather than the new, contemporary style. I've always thought the old hymns had more "substance" than the "you, you, you" of contemporary worship. I'm talking about the vaguely worded songs with the artist's beautiful face taking up the entire cover--the type of songs that you could play on public radio and not know who the artist is singing about.
