Review:
A British R&B singer whose parents were ethnically Chinese Vietnamese and who had his greatest success in Japan, Stevie Hoang released his debut album entirely independently. After ceaselessly promoting the album and gaining exposure through MySpace, Hoang was able to sign with Avex for a Japanese release (and eventually made his mark in digital sales in Japan). This Is Me is a straightforward piece of modern R&B with a slight British influence — the vocals are soft, and the arrangements are busy but gentle.
