The world's first SA-CD of Marchevich's historic masterpiece, including Maurice Andre and others!
Reproduce excellent recordings of PHILIPS. New mastering in home country from original analog master
This "Soldier's Tale" composed by Stravinsky in 1918 is a musical play performed by a narrator, three actors, and seven instrumentalists. In some cases, the narrative and the song are partially cut, and the performance may be performed in the form of a "suite" for a concert that is performed only by the instrumentalist. This "all songs" version has multiple sound sources, such as the composer's self-produced self-produced board, but the Markevich board recorded in 1962 has reigned as the representative board of this song both in name and reality. In this recording, Jean Cocteau (who died about a year after this recording) himself rewrote the script, and he became a hot topic from the time that he himself was in charge of talking. In addition, the famous actor Peter Justinov is set in the devil, and the luxurious cloth, including the instrumental players, has become a unique charm that no other board has. And the biggest attraction is the overwhelming performance that makes this board impossible without Maurice Andre. The following year, for the first time in the trumpet section of the Munich International Competition, he became the world's first trumpet pision. This performance, which makes full use of the sound required of this song, has reached the highest point that no one else can imitate. Clarinet was a professor of the Paris Conservatoire at the time and also a soloist. Roland Schnork, the chief of the Romande, is blowing. And the presence of Markevich who unites them is important. Although there are cases where no conductor is assigned in all song versions, it has a wonderful effect, such as the distinctiveness of Marchevich's urgency and the distinction of phrases linked to the narrative. This board is not only a representative board of "Soldier's Story", but also a historic masterpiece that can be said to be one of the representative boards of Markevich.
Although it was the earliest stereo sound source in 1962, this reprint aimed to faithfully reproduce the original sound left on the original master tape. After the initial CD production, a 24-bit master was released in Japan and was highly evaluated in terms of recording. However, with the technology at that time, some of the important overtones and atmospheres of musical instruments etc. were also reduced with the reduction of high-frequency hiss noise. Was. This board, which has been redone from the original analog master, revives with the highest level of sound, with the atmosphere at that time and the tone of the instrument closer to the master. In the production of this series, high-quality digitalization (DSD) is performed after physically maintaining and restoring the original analog master tape of the home country, and the dedicated engineer of the home country's label performs a detailed process for this series. Took a long time to do the mastering work. In the SA-CD layer, you can enjoy high-definition master sounds. The CD layer has also been digitized and mastered, so it is different from the sound quality of the conventional board.
