Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup, from Halmstad, formed in 1996. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, and Eucharist. It was founded by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the influential death metal band Carnage. The band has released nine studio albums, two live albums, three video albums and three EPs. The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva, who was replaced by German Angela Gossow as lead vocalist in 2000. Gossow left the band in March 2014 and was replaced by Canadian Alissa White-Gluz, while remaining as the group's manager.

Michael Amott (born 28 July 1970) is a British-born Swedish guitarist, songwriter, founding member of the bands Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggars, and Carnage, as well as a former member of the grindcore band Carcass. He is the older brother of Christopher Amott. Some major influences in his music have been Tony Iommi, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth and Dave Mustaine.
Amott was ranked No. 74 out of 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Guitarists of All Time by Guitar World.

Daniel Erlandsson − drums (1996, 1998–present)
Daniel John Erlandsson (born 22 May 1976 in Malmö, Sweden) is the drummer in the melodic death metal band Arch Enemy and Brujeria.
His early work includes drumming on the In Flames album Subterranean. He has also played for other bands, most notably Eucharist, Liers in Wait, Diabolique, Armageddon (featuring Christopher Amott of Arch Enemy), Revengia and The End.
Daniel's older brother is Adrian Erlandsson, the drummer of At the Gates, The Haunted, Brujeria, Paradise Lost and Vallenfyre and the former drummer of Cradle of Filth. They both grew up together in Sweden and started playing drums at a very young age. Daniel writes on the Arch Enemy website: "We grew up together and used to jam on a little kit in our parents basement, he started first and after some years I started too... He’s been a great influence over the years, and if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn’t be playing today."
He formerly played reunion shows with legendary grindcore band Carcass from 2007-2010 as their original drummer Ken Owen could not play due to complications from a brain hemorrhage he had in 1999. Both he and fellow Arch Enemy member Michael Amott left the band in 2012, with Erlandsson being replaced by former Aborted and current Trigger the Bloodshed drummer Daniel Wilding.
In 2012, he was hired by the band Brujeria, under the name "El Clavador".

Sharlee D'Angelo − bass (1999–present)
(born Charles Petter Andreason, 27 April 1973) is the Swedish bassist for the melodic death metal band Arch Enemy, as well as the stoner metal band Spiritual Beggars.
D'Angelo has also been in various bands in the past, either as a studio session player or full member. Some of these include IllWill and Mercyful Fate as well as Dismember, Sinergy, Witchery. More recently he has been a part of The Night Flight Orchestra, with Björn Strid of Soilwork.

Jeff Loomis − lead guitar, keyboard, backing vocals (2014−present)
(born September 14, 1971) is an American musician, best known for his role as lead guitarist in the progressive metal band Nevermore. In November 2014, it was announced he was to be the new guitarist for Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy.

Nick Cordle − rhythm guitar, keyboard, backing vocals (2012−2014)
ARCH ENEMY has parted ways with guitarist Nick Cordle and has replaced him with Jeff Loomis (pictured; ex-NEVERMORE). Loomis will make his live debut with ARCH ENEMY on the band's upcoming European tour, which kicks off November 26.

Angela Gossow − lead vocals (2000–2014)
Angela Nathalie Gossow (born 5 November 1974) is a German vocalist, best known as the former lead vocalist for the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. Her other previous bands include Asmodina and Mistress. She is considered to be one of the few successful female metal singers to use growling as her primary singing style. Her main influences are Jeff Walker of Carcass, David Vincent of Morbid Angel, Chuck Billy of Testament, John Tardy of Obituary, Chuck Schuldiner of Death, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, and Rob Halford of Judas Priest.

Per Wilberg - keyboards (2000-2007, 2009-2013), (session member 2014)
Per Jonas Wiberg (born 8 June 1968 in Borlänge) is the former keyboardist of Swedish progressive death metal band Opeth, and a member of Michael Amott's stoner metal band Spiritual Beggars. Wiberg toured with Opeth from the 2003 Deliverance/Damnation tour onward, and joined Opeth officially in 2005. Wiberg provided backing vocals for Opeth in addition to his keyboard duties. Before joining Spiritual Beggars he was a member of Death Organ, a band based in Borlänge. He has also fronted the band Boom Club, of the same area.
He played the keyboard in the intro to "Enemy Within" by the melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. He has also played piano on Swedish progressive rock band Anekdoten's 1993 release Vemod.
In 2007, Per Wiberg collaborated on a project called King Hobo with Clutch drummer Jean-Paul Gaster and Kamchatka guitarist Thomas Andersson.
It was announced on 6 April 2011 that Per was leaving Opeth as part of a mutual decision between him and the other band members.
Since 2012 Per has been a live musician for the Swedish doom metal band Candlemass as well as joining Swedish band Switchblade on selected dates as a keyboard player. In 2013 Per joined Swedish trio Kamchatka as a bass player and full-time member. He plays on the Kamchatka album The Search Goes On & Long Road Made Of Gold.

Johan Patrik Mattias Liiva (born 18 November 1970 in Helsingborg) is a Swedish extreme metal vocalist, most widely recognized as the founding vocalist of popular melodic death metal band Arch Enemy, as well as a former member of Carnage, Furbowl, and NonExist. He is currently working as vocalist with the band Hearse and with his former Arch Enemy bandmates in Black Earth.

Martin Bengtsson − bass (1997−1998)
Martin Bengtsson is a Swedish metal musician. He was a key part of the influential Swedish melodic death metal scene. He was a member of the melodic death metal band Arch Enemy between 1997 and 1998, and played bass guitar on their second album, Stigmata. He was also a member of Arch Enemy guitarist Christopher Amott's side project Armageddon in 1997. Bengtsson is currently the vocalist and lead guitarist in the heavy metal band Lechery.

Peter Wildoer − drums (1997)
Karl Peter Wildoer is a Swedish drummer in the bands Darkane, Electrocution 250 & Grimmark. He has also drummed for the bands Armageddon, Majestic, Pestilence, Silver Seraph, Arch Enemy, Time Requiem, Soilwork, Gardens of Obscurity and Dawn of Oblivion amongst others. He has been tagged to perform sessions drums on Old Man's Child's latest album, Slaves of the World. He is the drummer/harsh vocalist of the James LaBrie solo record Static Impulse. He also joined the experimental metal trio Electrocution 250 along with Todd Duane and Lalle Larson, with which released the album Cartoon Music from Hell.
He received his first drumset when he was 7. When he was nine he started to play the flute at the local music school (Kommunala musikskolan) where he learned how to read sheet music. After a year of playing the flute he quit and decided to take drum lessons instead. In 1986 he joined a brass band. He stayed with this band for 8 years. At the age of 14 he created his first rock band named "Dammer", which was later changed to "Zaninez." In 1989 Christopher Malmström joined the band Zaninez and he and Peter became friends. This friendship would later help to form Darkane.
He also auditioned for Dream Theater in 2011, as revealed by a recent documentary trailer released by the band. He competed along with 6 others, who the band called "the worlds greatest drummers". The band was openly impressed with his audition, going as far as to name him in their Top 3 favorites, along with Mike Mangini and Marco Minnemann.
