诞生於1960年的德国吉他英雄Axel Rudi Pell，可谓为德国美旋律式硬式摇滚的最佳代言人！在其音乐生涯迈入第18个年头时，依然一本初衷秉持著对於Hard Rock的坚持，交出了这张漂亮的成绩单！
从1981年到1988年间，与乐团Steeler的合作，在80年代中期便是一个相当成功及受欢迎的组合，而Axel从1989年展开个人solo的旅程后，却是受到更多的喝彩！Axel的音乐风格深受70年代Rainbow的影响，他可说是吉他传奇人物Ritchie Blackmore的头号大乐迷！另一位对其创作灵感也有相当贡献的，则是Yngwie Malmsteen，这点在此张专辑中同样能够得到验证。这张专辑在音乐上当然是Axel最擅长的美旋律HR/HM，和前卫没任何关系，由Axel个人包办了全部的词曲创作，从狂野奔放的速弹到柔美动人的慢节奏曲，Axel以其炉火纯青的吉他美技，将丰沛的情感幻化为一幕幕动人的乐章！
在乐手上，鼓手依然是Axel的老搭挡Jorg Michael (Stratovarius)，键盘手则是新加入的Ferdy Doernberg，他不仅以优异的演奏能力辅助Axel，其气氛营造的功力更为整张专辑增添许多色彩！1分15秒充满著神秘感的序曲就令人十分神往！8分钟长的无疑是专辑中的极品！流畅的speed曲式在优美的旋律贯穿下，迷人的吉他solo叫人为之疯狂！9:37的由前半段的柔美慢节奏，转变到后段狂飙的吉他与键盘对弹，Axel与Ferdy的功力在此展露无疑！同名曲Axel深情悲怅的吉他solo与高音主唱感性的歌声，一个个音符都让人感动直达最心底！则是首充满巴洛克色彩的演奏曲，音乐的片段不禁让人想起早期的Yngwie，优美哀愁的曲调令人想一听再听！果然姜还是老的辣！
