About
“Banda de Caballos Cansados” it was released in 1974 by Music Hall label. For this second album, Leon already had his own band – the “caballos cansados” Rodolfo Gorosito, Ruben Batan and Vicente Buzzo -, a line of his own within his admiration for Dylan (“Un dia Baltazar” or a Bob de la Pampa Calling for agrarian reform) and a resonance and conduct that would bring him a lot of headaches to record his third album “El Fantasma de Canterville”.

About
“El Fantasma De Canterville” is the third album of study of the Argentine singer-songwriter Leon Gieco. It was released in 1976 by the label Music Hall. The album’s theme to the album was composed by Charly Garcia and originally recorded by the band PorSuiGieco for the disc of the same name of 1976. Due to the prevailing censorship during the last Argentine civic-military dictatorship (1976-1983), the song “El fantasma de Canterville” Had to be replaced by “Antes de gira”, and the original version was only in the first roll of the album, which was not kidnapped by the dictatorship.
Shortly after the launch of Porsuigieco Gieco decided to challenge the censorship and include the subject in question in this album of the same year ’76, along with other classic songs like “The chacareros de dragones”, which had composed by the murder of Victor Jara in The Chile Stadium, in 1973 (the place where you could see thirty-one years after Victor Jara Stadium).
In 2007 the song “El fantasma de Canterville” was chosen by the page Rock.com.ar like the 58 ° best song of the Argentine rock of the list of the 100 of the 40.1

This album titled “4to LP” by Leon Gieco.
But, Who is this singer? First, is Argentine and his the country-rock style. Somewhere I read that is the “Bob Dylan of South America”. If I could make a comparison would be with Neil Young (Band’s instrumentation, guitar, harmonica, etc).
What I like about Gieco? His voice, completely outside to the model of most Argentine groups and soloists, as Luis A. Spinetta and Charly Garcia, model to follow.
This LP, in my opinion, is the highlight of the Gieco’s discography. I bought it for the song “Solo le pido a Dios (I only ask to God)” and a part taken from a recital in which appears the beautiful ballad “Cancion de amor para Francisca”.
Trivia and history about the beautiful and heartbreaking song “Solo le pido a Dios”. This song that made his jump Gieco’s fame. I remember this song became famous after war by Malvinas islands between Argentina and the UK (Unfortunately this territorial issue is far from over). The fact that this LP was released in 1979, hence the song “Solo le pido a Dios” was not composed because of that devastating war. At that time (The war of the Malvinas islands) when this song was most popular, Gieco was invited to sing his song on the Chilean TV and in a radio interview they was asked what he wanted to say of this song, he replied something like “That song was composed by the war that was looming with Chile.” Yes, that was a terrible reality that we live in 1978: The war between Chile and Argentina was imminent. Gieco’s prayer came true, then, the Papal mediation made some sense into both countries, thank to God!

This LP “7 Anos” by Leon Gieco, is a review of seven-year career. Any doubt? The interesting thing is that it is not a compilation of different LPs as one might think and was for that reason that I bought this album. Comes with two live songs: “La Colina De La Vida” and “Solo Le Pido A Dios”, the latter is the best version I’ve heard, passion, emotion, the audience singing it.
Yes sir, has been a very good investment.

“Pensar en nada” is the fifth studio album by the Argentine singer-songwriter Leon Gieco. It was released in the year 1981 by the Sazam label and produced by Oscar Lopez. The song that the title is a great update of the Gieco’s people, that becomes an absolute success with the passage of the years; In “La cultura es la sonrisa” and “Cumbia de la ciudad” is put in tropical rhythms; While “Bajaste del Norte” (by Raul Porchetto and with Dino Saluzzi in bandoneon), “Aqui, alla, hoy o manana”, “Soy un pobre agujero” and “Chacarera de un atardecer” are classic in Gieco’s concerts.
