Pink Floyd - Shine On in Tour 77 (24bits 96kHz vinyl)
Madison Square Garden, New York, NY, 1977-07-02
Seeder's note:
This is not an upgraded version nor an alternative taper's source, but a high-quality rip from a vinyl which is currently available as "new". It seems however a newer generation version of an older generation vinyl.
But for the Pink Floyd fans who like the sound of vinyl, I have ripped and posted this album on Yeeshkul!
This vinyl album I picked up during another stroll through one of the record shops in The Hague, The Netherlands. They sometimes sell real gems!
There is little known about this album and the only thing I could find was the following:
Pink Floyd - Shine On In Tour 77
Label: EMI (This is NOT a real label. It is used for all unofficial releases (bootlegs, counterfeits ... , pirate compilations) that pretend to be a release of EMI)
Catalog#: PF-BOT77
Format: Vinyl, LP, Unofficial Release
Country: Europe
Released: 2009
Notes: Recorded live in New York 02.07.1977. On back cover there's a third track on side B "Have A Cigar" but this is a printing error as this track appears only on A3. The label of side B does not mention this track either.

For me it seems a copy of sides 3 and 4 of the double (vinyl) albums "Have A Cigar - The Live Biography, Volume 4" or "Caught In The Crossfire", which feature the whole concert (see below), except for the reprises, and are both stated to be 1977-07-02 recordings (most likely Crossfire, as around 3m45s into the first track you hear a guy shouting "ta-ta-ta-ta" on both and around 5m45s the same audience talk too). Why a copy? Beause the audio seems to be having some typical distortion of a well-played record: some pops and clicks from dust and scratches as well as some distortion in the louder parts, while the vinyl seems in prestine conditions: no scratches or stains. So most of the pops and clicks were in the recording rather than on the record. But while this was definitely audible on headphones, through the loudspeakers this vinyl sounded good enough to do a rip and remaster in 24/96, to keep the original vinyl feel. On the Frequency Analysis (see the pictures in teh support folder) there is no clear roll-off around 20kHz, as you would expect from a CD source.
"Caught In The Crossfire" is seeded somewhere else on Yeeshkul! in the CD version (http://www.yeeshkul.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21094) although this CD version contains only the second part of the concert (as does this vinyl). But despite this vinyl being a higher generation version and definitely not the best source available, I deceided to make a 24/96 rip for those who love the sound of vinyl - and to keep the sound quality as good as possible.

Yes, track six is my personal bonus: how would Shine On You Crazy Diamond sounds if it would be played live as one single piece?
