Vinyl Cleaning Process
Ultrasonic Cleaner (tap water with home-brew cleaner) for 20-60 mins (depending on vinyl condition)
Pat dry with clean, lint-free towel
Place on VPI 16.5 and apply home-brew cleaner with VPI brush
Vacuum off cleaning solution
Flip record and repeat
Place record in Spin Clean filled with distilled water to remove any remaining cleaning solution
Pat dry with clean, lint-free towel
Place record back on VPI 16.5 to vacuum off any remaining water
Flip record and repeat
Use Zerostat Gun on each side prior to ripping
Recording/Processing Steps
Capture LP rip in 24/96 via GoldWave
Run thru ClickRepair at level 8 with Pitch Protection: on/Reverse: on/Wavelet: x2
Amplify recording in Audacity to -0.7
Split racks in Audacity
Listen to each track in Izotope RX2 Advanced with AKG 702 headphones & Head-Direct EF1 amplifier cleaning any remaining clicks/artifacts
Resample/Dither to 16/44khz in Izotope Rx2 Advanced using the default presets
Flac level 8 with Xrecode II
