Об альбоме (сборнике)
This is an amazing project, even amazing, completed and after the violinist Régis Huby, singer Maria Laura Baccarini and a fine team of musicians and jazz improvisers (ten musicians in total covering all consoles):
a contemporary opera on a pressing issue and the current background of ecology and return to nature ... We remember that Regis Huby, musical director and arranger had recreated an intoxicating night around U.S. Lambert Wilson, Maria Laura Baccarini and Stephy Haik, bringing together a solid (sensiblemnt the same set as in All Around) to interpret some unavoidable American vocal music of the twentieth century: songs and melodies of Broadway became jazz standards ... He was assisted by musicians that you particularly like about the music scene more "current", a priori far from the musical: Catherine Delaunay, Christophe Marguet, Jean-Marc Larcombe, William Séguron. So one might think that it is again on 42nd Street, paying tribute to Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, Bernstein, as the project takes time for the musical, given the vocal performance and a certain theatricality.
But the book is Yann Aperry an ode to Mother Nature, a dreamy and intriguing tale, skillfully blends initiatory Celtic influences in these 9 songs all written in English. The result is music that is played styles, folk, pop, rock, a stream that flows and vigorous hybrid continuous flow, instrumentalists providing the setting most delicate and most complex in the voice of the only soloist. The music fades in all cases the border really makes the tenuous line between genres, creating links between the episodes of the narrative. Immersed in the "wonderful" of the windswept moors, forests covered by elves, gnomes, leprechauns and other "pucks," immersed in nature is not really hostile, just indifferent, man loses his bearings in mid "Falling birds! Coincidence particularly troubling when one considers the recent falls of birds in some European countries. But so far, the references to Hitchcock film The Birds and rain "surreal" to amphibians in Magnolia (Paul Thomas Anderson) are not appropriate. The birds are peaceful animals as elusive but they do not become a threat, the assault of birds does not herald the Last Judgement. This partition magic reveals a pantheistic vision: the man, surrounded by a bestiary rich (mole preacher, wolverine, swallows, larks, hawks, dolphins ...) is lost in the infinite: "Life is a merry limbo", "Suck To The Marrow amnesia "...
Maria Laura Baccarini is the theme of this All Around, confirming the qualities of a complete opera singer, a mezzo-soprano who had led a review on Broadway: a desire all his travels vibrant interpretation that denies the evanescence, the stretch "fashionable" among the singers.
Without abusing the gross breath, a whisper of breath, she sings. With a great power and a refined sense of modulation. Without vocalizing so heavenly, she never tired, but discovers a beautiful temperament. Again this is not jazz, but the melody that runs simmering on nine tracks, is a force, a relief, a spirited little content. The pace is étourdisssant: Sound like a flood, a downpour vital musicians united in the original reading, show the beauty of a commitment accomplice. We look forward to seeing them on stage!
