Texas-born singer songwriter Sara K. is well known to audiophiles for her superb albums released by Chesky Records. Her latest, Made In The Shade comes from a German audiophile label Stockfisch Records. The album is surely one of her very best, maybe THE best. Like good wine, this one has it all--that inner glow, that shining light that is the true sign of real art. Guitars, fretless bass and exotic instruments including the concert harp and various percussions form an ideal backdrop for the singer, with Sara K. sounding articulate to the highest degree.
Sara K's songs reflect folk-blues, rock and jazz sensibilities, and together with her intelligent lyrics they are in a class by themselves. As is the case with her prior recordings, Made In The Shade is beautifully recorded with stunning, vivid details that move the listener. If you care about good sound and have a good stereo system, you will be able to savor all the details, textures and nuances of the wonderful performance.
Produced and recorded by Gunter Pauler. This Hybrid SACD contains a 5.1 surround mix, a SACD stereo mix, and a CD layer, and is playable with all regular CD players. Released in 2009.
