Об альбоме (сборнике)
Jochum's only stereo recording of Brahms: the world's first SACD of the complete symphony!
One of the best points of Brahms performance that combines knowledge, passion and enthusiasm.
A 30-year plan after the death of Jochum. The complete stereophonic Brahms: Symphony, recorded with the London Philharmonic in 1976. It is a masterpiece that can be heard at a stretch with the heat and concentration of live. This board, which has long been supported as one of the top performances of Brahms performance since its release, is finally SACDed for the first time in the world. For this reprint, mastering was performed separately for the SACD layer and the CD layer separately, using a master that was digitized at 96 kHz / 24 bit from the original analog master in the home country. It is a permanent storage board.
This recording, recorded at a stretch from July to October 1976, was recorded with the London Philharmonic, unlike Beethoven of the same period. At that time, Haitink was the era of chief conductor, and from 1977 it was just before the start of Tenstedt and Mahler recording. The sound of the London Philharmonic, which has a slightly different soothing tone than the London Symphony Orchestra, is well distinguished from Beethoven, as can be heard in Haydn's Symphony in DG. Another characteristic is that the performance feels strong heat and concentration that was rarely seen in Jochum. All recordings are recorded at King's Way Hall by famous combination of Bishop & Parker, and it is interesting point that the sound is slightly different from Beethoven mentioned above. This Brahms has won the 16th (1978) Record Academy Award (Symphony) of Ongaku Tomosha.
Compared to the performance of the Berlin Philharmonic previously recorded on the DG in mono, the Brahms is a performance that inherits traditional phrasing and balance, has a sense of tempo with ample room and a stepped interpretation. You. It is a string-based construction that has a low center of gravity in terms of timbre, and it is a unique Johm that even if it is not an Austrian German orchestra, it has a legitimate Brahms. However, characteristic interpretations that emphasize wit and music are scattered everywhere in Jochum, and places that do not have a moderate performance are highly evaluated. Jochum's masterpiece is highly valued as a performance that reflects his passion for Brahms
