Zazie is 1 of the most amazing & talented females of French pop. It’s a shame that she’s unknown in America. Her music is fantastic, she’s an incredible artist who seems to always change her musical image, making it more fun, exciting, & innovative on each album! This is 1 of her best, after ‘Zen’.
Rodéo is a 2004 album recorded by French pop singer Zazie. It was her 5th studio album & her 7th album overall. It was released on 22 November 2004 & achieved success in francophone countries. It provided 4 singles, but all of them were only released as promotional singles & therefore did not chart.
For the 1st time, Zazie co-wrote all the songs on the album with the composers Jean-Pierre Pilot & Philippe Paradis.
The album was recorded at a house in the Luberon in November 2003. It was released in 2 editions : a standard edition & an edition including a bonus track, “Mon coeur à la science”, & a DVD. This DVD contains the music videos for 10 songs of the album presented under a 40-minute film entitled “Rodéo indien”. As the title indicates it, this film was shot in India, by Didier Le Pêcheur, who had already produced other music videos for Zazie. This DVD is also composed of a making-of & an Indian remixed version of the songs “Tous des anges”, “Un point c’est toi” & “Zen”.

The SACD I have is a 2 Disc Digipak, 2 booklets : Her record company did here what they should normaly do...
I never bought a Zazie album, but after listening many times to this SACD & watching the DVD, I may change my mind about her.
The surround mixes are just fine - not enough surround use to me, but I'm excessive about that.
The videos (DTS) as a whole has given me such pleasure - she has such a presence. And when she dances indian dance that's perfect to me (I'm not a specialist but she's in her element).
If you're French & you know & like her. Give it a try, you may be surprised..
