Shortly before the demise of Classic Records, the label had started a “Classic Records Presents” series of classical titles. Unfortunately, there were only two titles released before they went out of business. Both were released on their 200g Quiex SV-P vinyl and both has excellent sound quality. This was the second one.

Recorded on Oct 14th and 15th 1999 as part of the same sessions that produced CR 2001 – Shostakovitch’s Symphony No. 5, the first in the Classic Records Presents series of recordings. The multi-Grammy winning Elite Recording team of Marc Aubort and the late Joanna Nickrenz captured a fantastic recording of the legendary warhorse composition, a staple of the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Pavel Kogan’s repertoire.
Recorded at the famous Festival House concert hall in Salzburg, Austria, this performance is slightly faster in pace that many other interpretations which builds a tension that brings new light to the orchestral nuances that Rimsky-Korsakoff so carefully crafted. The recording was mastered and cut by Bernie Grundman using Classic’s ALL TUBE analog cutting system and pressed on our proprietary 200g Super Vinyl Profile for maximum fidelity and musical pleasure.
Продолжаю небольшую серию выборочных раздач Шехеразад, еще не имеющихся в данном разделе нашего трекера. Дело в том, что я для себя решил было устроить состязание между различными записями Шехеразады с целью подтверждения или опровержения бытующего мнения о непревзойденности Райнеровского исполнения, включив в круг испытуемых как старые известные записи, так и новые, записанные совершенно иначе (конечно не все, а только доступные мне). Как я не старался, но первенство Райнера ни подтвердить, ни опровергнуть я так и не смог. Зато получил море удовольствия от прослушивания таких разных исполнений любимого произведения гениального композитора. Решил поделиться и с вами. Качество записи везде разное от хорошего (или почти) до очень хорошего и даже отличного.
