Певец по имени Yoav /Йоав Садан/ — идеальный трубадур двадцать первого века. Он не просто человек-оркестр, но человек-студия: звучанию, которое он создаёт на сцене в одиночку при помощи одной лишь гитары и голоса, позавидует не только любая группа, но и любой саунд продюсер. Он не знает границ ни музыкальных, ни географических – родился в Израиле, вырос в Кейптауне (ЮАР), сейчас равномерно распределен между Монреалем и Лондоном. Его стиль своеобразен и узнаваем, и в то же время каждый может найти в его музыке знакомые черты – музыкальный бэкграунд Йоава на редкость эклектичен. В его песнях сливаются вместе и модерновый рок в традициях Бека и Radiohead, и пронзительный фолк-рок Ника Дрейка, соул и ритм-энд-блюз шестидесятых, и, совсем не в последнюю очередь современный R&B.
Своими главными авторитетами музыкант называет Timbaland и Neptunes. От них Йоав унаследовал любовь к минималистичному звуку, замешанному на хип-хопе, однако схожих результатов он добивается не при помощи электроники и компьютерных технологий, а используя исключительно живые инструменты, причем, как правило, всего один – гитару. Гулко стучит пальцами по деке, имитируя суховатые хип-хоповые барабаны, размашисто хлопает фанковым слэпом и жужжит через овердрайв как заправский гаражный рокер. Не менее ловко Йоав манипулирует и собственным голосом – то хрипит как Tricky, то стонет под акустику в манере нынешних инди-рокеров, то переходит на фальцет, где может то завыть как Том Йорк, то уподобиться манерному и сексуальному Джастину Тимберлейку.
