Когда в прежнем коллективе Марка Янсена "After Forever" страсти накалились, музыкант поспешил ретироваться и тут же взялся создавать новый проект. Первоначально группа получила название "Sahara Dust", а в ее состав помимо Янсена вошли экс-участница "Trail Of Tears" Хелена Микаэльсен, басист Ив Хатс, гитарист Эд Слайтер, клавишник Коэн Янссен и барабанщик Иван Хендрикс. Последний пробыл в команде недолго - его место занял Деннис Лифланг из "Within Temptation".
