Paloma Stoecker (born 23 September 1990), who records under the mononym Delilah, is a British singer-songwriter currently signed to Atlantic Records. In 2011, she collaborated with Chase & Status on the single "Time". Her first solo material Go, was officially released on 25 September 2011, whilst previously being available for digital download. Her forthcoming album From the Roots Up is due to be released in summer 2012.
Delilah has been influenced by and compared to Canadian singer Alanis Morissette. Speaking of her influences in a interview the singer credits Buena Vista Social Club, Portishead, Ella Fitzgerald, Metalheadz, Nine Inch Nails, Chaka Khan, Roy Ayres, Aaliyah and Sade Adu as some of her musical influences. They, along with others played a big part in her musical upbringing and this influences the songs she writes and co-produces.

Stoecker cites that her upcoming album From the Roots Up, is influenced by the contemporary music scene, with genres ranging from dub, dubstep, acoustic and drum & bass. On describing her sound the singer says her music is dark, soulful, melodic pop. Stoeckers debut album, From the Roots Up is set for release on 30 July 2012. The record features production from Syience, Balistiq and up and coming Hyperdub label signee LV. Stoecker also serves as a co-producer on the album. She announced that her fourth single from the album will be a cover of Minnie Riperton's "Inside My Love".
Paloma Stoecker's calling card is Go, the formidable and minimal Chaka-Khan-borrowing single (Khan proclaimed the reworking of her 1983 hit Ain't Nobody "genius") that's powered by the sort of hushed, aching vocals and poised beats that evoke the xx. It's the high point of the 21-year-old's trip-hop-inflected album, but there's nothing else here that quite matches it for intensity and focus. Her voice moves easily from girlish and sugary to soulful, but it's wasted on some of the more mawkish longueurs such as 21 or Insecure.
Born Paloma Stoecker – but there’s clearly only room for the one Paloma in this game – the re-handled Delilah’s best known for bringing a bit of humanity to Chase & Status’ blowhard stadium dubstep. Producers Science, Ballistiq and LV sneak some of those bassy shadows into this debut but Delilah’s heart belongs to mid-’90s trip-hop, her voice betraying an Ella Fitzgerald crack over the swerving strings and muted beats of ‘Insecure’ and ‘Never Be Another’. Studies in tasteful stasis are her thing, and tracks like ‘Breathe’ and ‘I Can Feel You’ have all the impetus of a doorstop, but nevertheless, Delilah’s tone can be gorgeous.
When she finds quirky middle ground between Lykke Li and Regina Spektor on ‘Only You’, covers Minnie Riperton’s ‘Inside My Love’ with gossamer delicacy or caresses the sweetest melody over Nils Frahm-like keys on ‘Shades Of Grey’, she sounds like an Emeli Sandé that’s actually worth all the trouble.
