专辑介绍：
Meg Baird 是Espers乐团的成员之一.07年最新专辑Dear Companion最初是始于Meg Baird为Philadelphia’s Tequila Sunrise厂牌创作一个独立专辑的邀请.整张专辑全是取自Meg自己的原始素材,可以说是一张非常接近Meg内心的歌曲集,整张专辑清新委婉.Meg这样说到:“这张专辑我将尽我个人所能的投入其中的编写和塑造，并尽可能的来减少分歧.我是真的很爱这些歌，并将它们严肃对待，同时尽我所能的将它完成的更好.我想进行一些新的和有意义的尝试，同时又有一种所有歌曲已经完全写出的感觉.”最后，Meg对Dear Companion这张专辑这样说到：“一直以来，像这样一张来记录我生命中那些我深深关注的人的专辑对我来说，一直是个梦想.最初的构想就是想让它简单，可是越是接近越会发现它不简单，它真的实在是太棒了！”
Dear Companion started from a generous invitation towards Meg Baird (one of the clear-toned songwriters of Philadelphian sextet Espers) to create a solo release for Philadelphia’s Tequila Sunrise label. Although a beautifully conceived 7” single came out of this initial design, the entire long play record was never made available. Wichita (and Drag City in the US) are very happy to be releasing this deeply personal record that very nearly never existed for public consumption.
Made up of a mix of her own original material, cover versions and a selection of traditional numbers, Dear Companion is a collection of songs that are very close to Meg’s heart. “I tucked into this collection of songs as much personal coding and shapes as I could without weighing down the branches too much. I really love these songs and take them very seriously and was just trying to do a really good job with everything I had available at that time. I wanted to make something new and worthwhile, all the while harboring a feeling that all songs have already been written.”
A final word from Meg on Dear Companion – “All along, it was my hope that this recording would show a lot of people in my life that I care about them very deeply. The initial intension was to keep this a simple record, but up close not very much is simple, and that really is wonderful.”
