Album ReviewSol Moravia-Rosenberg, known simply by Sol, is a Hip Hop artist based in Seattle, Washington. Sol collaborates with other northwest hip hop artists such as the Blue Scholars, Macklemore, and Grynch.
Sol released his debut album, The Ride, independently in 2009, and three free EPs (Dear Friends, Vol. I, II & III).
Recent performances include; the 2011 SXSeattle Showcase at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX, the 2010 annual CougFest at Washington State University, attended by more than 4,000 people; the 2009 Annual Capitol Hill Block Party, and the Northwest Folklife Music Festival. Sol organized and performed at a sold out “Haiti Relief Show” at Neumos in Seattle, raising more than $7,000 for his maternal homeland. In 2010 Sol got 2nd place in the Experience Music Project 2009 Sound Off! Northwest 21 & under battle of the bands.
Sol’s EP (Dear Friends, Vol. II) reached the KEXP hip hop top 10, and his song “Dear Friends” was included in KUBE (FM) Sunday Night Sound Sessions “Best of 2010″. In October 2010, Sol’s song “So Damn High” climbed the charts on New York based blog tracking website The Hype Machine, reaching #1 above the likes of Kanye West, DeadMau5, and Kings of Leon. His recent live “In-Studio” performance on KEXP was covered in the Seattle Times. Sol has shared the stage with artists such as; Wu-Tang Clan,The Clipse, Macklemore, Mike Posner, Big Sean, Mac Miller,Blue Scholars, Zion-I and The Coup.  Sol is currently a student at the University of Washington,. the same school that Seattle group Blue Scholars attended Sol is a 2011 University of Washington Bonderman Fellowship recipient.
