The famous 1964 concert by Miles Davis' quintet at the Lincoln Center (New York) 12 FEB 1964.
The Concert is divided over 2 discs this disk, “My funny Valentine” consisting of the ballads of that evening and the up-tempo pieces were issued as Four & More.
Performance wise I will quote Herbie Hancock: “That was my first time playing at the Philharmonic Hall and that was, like, a big deal, because the new Carnegie Hall was the Philharmonic Hall. Just from the prestige standpoint I really wanted to play good”
Personally I think this album swings, Miles plays brilliant and takes you on a journey and I would buy the record alone for the mid-tempo version of all Blues “WOW”. From a personal perspective I would say one of the greatest Miles Davis live concert recordings.
Make Sure you pick up Four & More to complete the story/journey Miles is taking you.
This “My funny Valentine” SACD remastering is the same as the "The Original Jacket Collection of 2006"
So sonic wise I think this is the best Re-issue out there, even better then the "Seven Steps Complete Columbia Recordings of Miles Davis 1963-64" 7CD box set, which is an older re-master 11.10.2004. 曲目列表：
