20世纪30年代，米尔翠·贝莉Mildred Bailey 是美国特别受欢迎的和很有影响力的爵士歌手，被称为“摇摆女王”，“摇摆夫人”。1938，39，40年有三个单曲曾经登上排行榜首排名第一。
“新格罗夫爵士词典”将米尔翠·贝莉形容为“第一位吸收和掌握黑人同时代爵士乐风格的白人歌手”。她在1989年入选大乐队和爵士名人堂。1994年，美国邮政署为Mildred Bailey 米尔翠·贝莉发行过一张29美分邮票。
