本片配乐获得1976年奥斯卡最佳原创配乐提名和格莱美奖提名，这张原声充满异域风情，运用了丰富的打击乐和管弦乐编曲。是配乐大师Jerry Goldsmith不得不提的佳作之一。

影片讲述在一1904年的中东沙漠地带，一名美国寡妇（坎迪斯·伯根饰）及她的儿女被阿拉伯大盗头子绑架，导致美国政府紧张不已，罗斯福总统决定派兵将她夺回。最后寡妇以行动感化了大盗头子（辛康纳利饰），免却了一场杀身之祸。

杰瑞·哥德史密斯（Jerry Goldsmith，1929年2月10日-2004年7月21日）是一位著名的美国电影配乐作曲家，他来自美国加州的洛杉矶市。哥德史密斯曾获18次奥斯卡提名并凭《The Omen 凶兆》获奖，还赢得5次艾美奖。他曾为许多不同类型的影视作品配乐，对悬疑动作片，科幻以及惊悚电影配乐相当擅长。
