Biografia
António Eustáquio was born in Portalegre and now lives in Castelo de Vide. Although he spent a long time in Lisboa, he prefers the Alentejo, because of “its silence and fresh air.”
Professor of Musical Education at a public school, he thinks teaching is his main professional activity, despite his intense musical activity.
He spent several years searching for new directions for the Portuguese guitar, which is easy to see if you notice some of the titles of his discography, where for example, we can find "Antonio Vivaldi in Portuguese guitar."
Accompanied by the “Camerata Lusitana”, he materialized Carlos Paredes’s wish, when he confirmed the expressive possibilities of the Portuguese guitar as a solo instrument, playing works that require a great virtuosity.
Contact with Guitolão is a defining moment.
Nowadays he is one of the two owners of the instrument suggested by Carlos Paredes and made reality by the master Gilberto Grácio.
The first disc with this instrument was released in late 2008, where we hear António Eustáquio playing next to the "Ibero-American Quartet."
ANTONIU EUSHTAKIU studied piano, composition and music education in the Conservatoire of Kashtelu Branku, old music in Paris (where Anr. Angers) and guitar in the Lisbon Academy of Music lovers. Participate in a seminar on jazz, initiated by the Portuguese Hot Clube. Founded and directs the Conservatoire in Portalegre. The beginning of the National Festival of the Portuguese guitar. Cooperate with the Irish group in the TV show Riverdanse Globos d'Ouro (Golden Balls) to the private channel SIC. A quartet of the sun (Quarteto do Sol), which recorded a CD at the invitation of Numerica and two unique ensemble with Portuguese guitar. First - Sounds of Time (Sons do Tempo) is a quartet, which is a suite composed of leaves and the second - Camerata Lusitana - composed for baroque music, which prepares and issues Eushtakiu works by Vivaldi and Bach. Over the last few years Antoniu Eushtakiu play gitolau - a new tool made by K. Paredesh idea of lyutiera G. Grasiu. As executor of gitolau he visits the Music Festival in Corsica, etnodzhaz Festival in Moldavia (2006) and is included in the project IN-Canto by L. Amaru. Antoniu Eushtakiu is currently professor of music education in schools "Garcia d'Orta in Kashtelu de Video.
