Nea Batera was born in Argentina, on June 15, 1989. She was interested in music from an early age: she was 3 when she began taking electronic piano lessons at the Yamaha Music Academy where she also learned to read sheet music. At the age of 7, in 1997, she started taking guitar lessons. During the same year she also started taking tap dance lessons, and seven years later (in 2004) she became an instructor herself. She gave tap dance lessons during the year 2005. She also took Contemporary Dance and Hip Hop lessons.
She began taking drum lessons in 2005. Between 2006 and 2010, she took classes with Marcelo Baraj (Catupecu Machu, D-mente, Leon Gieco,etc.). In 2006 she started rehearsing and performing with her first band. Since that moment she has been playing with many other bands. She began teaching drums in 2009 to beginner and intermediate students, and applied the skills she earned during her Psychology degree (2007-2012) as she specialized in Educational Psychology.
Today, Nea Batera combines her knowledge of drumming, dancing and percussive dance, creating unique and innovative musical rhythms for the ears as well as the eyes.
