The second Jon & Vangelis album.
The first editions have six songs and a black-and-white cover.
Initial copies in the UK had a unique embossed sleeve (see Jon And Vangelis - The Friends Of Mr Cairo) and later the better known cover.
The album was re-released in most countries later the same year, adding the single "I'll Find My Way Home", swapping the sides, and using different artwork with a brown background.
In the UK this meant a change to the Cat. No. from POLD 5039 to POLD 5053.
In Canada, the LP and cassette releases remained with the six-song version and artwork, although the CD release used the seven-song track listing and cover.
"I'll Find My Way Home" was added to the Canadian LP of "Short Stories" as a bonus 12" instead.

Recorded at Davout Studios, Paris and at Nemo Studios, London.
Track B3 is listed as "Outside of This (Inside of That)" on the label.
Track B1 duration listed on label as 2:04 instead of 12:04
