"This Is Armageddon" grates Satyr at the indroduction and he couldn't better describe the faster opener "The Dawn Of The New Age". It's more cudgelling than the good previous album "The Shadowthrone", this "Nemesis Diva" (means something like "pine creation" (not really, "Nemesis" in his actual meaning, symbolises the disapproval of something, in this case it's god meant - Alex)) and it's more progressive anyhow...You need some pass-through times to look behind the frosty songs. But in spite of their unapproachability, the songs are very impressive.
The most famous SATYRICON song "Mother North" is also included, a real Black Metal hit, hahaha! But not to forget is my personal favourite "Forhekset". Those jingly riffs, just unique! This fascinating final is god! Actually, all trademarks of the band are given. There are much breaks, surprising turns, stamping, marching rhythms and a nasty nagging Satyr on the top. Unfortunately, the production is less punishing, but it fits anyhow!
In my opinion, the remaining songs are not as great as the "The Shadowthrone" material, anyhow, this album is a must for every Black fan and for all open-minded music freaks. Ralf
