The partnership between Omar Rodriguez-Lopez [who wrote and arranged all music and directs the group] & Cedric Bixler-Zavala [who wrote all lyrics and vocal melodies] is The Mars Volta.
This album was recorded in Los Angeles California, Melbourne Australia, and El Paso Texas. It was worked on using the E-Clat Disaster Portable Morgue Unit by the patient engineering talents of Jonathon Debaun, Robert Carranza, and Paul Fig. Then mixed in New York City by Rich Costey with Pablo Arraya assisting. It was eventually mastered right down the hall by Vlado Meller. The cover and label paintings [Big Mutant and Dwarf Dancing, respectively] are by Jeff Jordan and the overall layout by Sonny Kay. This coordination was made possible by Kristen Elizabeth Welsh, the caretaker of Monkey Island. All saxophone parts and solos on Meccamputechture played by Sara Christina Gross.
Notes:
"Vicarious Atonement" is the theory that the atonement of Jesus Christ was legal in God's eyes and that Jesus died in the place of the humans that sinned.
"Tetragrammaton" is a reference to the four-letter Hebrew name יהוה (often rendered JHWH or YHWH in English) for the god of Judaism
"Vermicide" is any substance used to kill worms, especially those in the intestines, or the act of killing worms.
"Meccamputechture" is a portmanteau of Mecca (the holiest city in the Islamic faith), amputate, technology, and architecture.
"Asilos Magdalena" is Spanish for Magdalene asylums.
Viscera (or viscus), in the title of "Viscera Eyes", refers to the internal organs.
A "Baphomet" is an object used for idolizing, also confused with popular representations of Satan.
"El Ciervo Vulnerado" is Spanish for 'The Wounded Shepherd.' In Spanish 'ciervo' is the word for 'deer', although it is pronounced in almost the same way as 'siervo' (for Latin American Spanish speakers). In this case the word is being used as 'pastor' or as previously mentioned a 'shepherd'. In the Reina-Valera 1960 Edition of the Holy Bible, Jesus is referred to as 'El Siervo que fue vulnerado' or the 'Shepherd who was wounded'.

Состояние у пластинки я указал MINT, и, по большому счету, так оно и есть. Но, на первом виниле есть небольшой заводской дефект – в местах стыка белого и оранжевого слоев слышен шум, он короткий, только на время пока иголка едет по стыку, но есть. Это хорошо заметно на первом треке. Но, тут уже ничего не поделать, такой экземпляр попался.
Все четыре стороны в конце не имеют сбега и последний виток закольцован. Убирать сигнал плавно не стал, оставил как есть.
