I bought a VG+ version of the original 1983 Barking Pumpkin-CBS Vinyl LP and ripped it using a Marantz TT-185 Turn-Table, a SoundBlaster X-Fi HD USB Soundcard, and with Nero Soundtrax 7 software.
Previous versions of this vinyl rip were not recorded at a high enough frequency (spectral analysis showed this clearly).
All I did was cut each side with Cool Edit Pro 2.1 into individual tracks, speed correct a few tracks, delick them, encode them to flac, and tag them with album art and info.
The album included a sleave with all the lyrics printed on one side...you know, in case you were unclear of the lyrics in 'Jazz Discharge Party Hats,' or 'The Radio Is Broken.'

This original vinyl version is missing one song that would end up on the CD. It also has a completely different track order than the CD. I think it sounds much better too. I hear 'voices' on 'The Radio is Broken,' that I can't hear on the CD version. I'm pretty sure this is a different mix than the Rykodisc CD version as well. Note that Track A5 Moggio cannot possibly be 3:05 in length, as written on the album and back cover. This is a mistake. Just for fun, I speed corrected the track to 3:05 and it sounded terrible, so I kept it at its original, true length - 2:36! Anyway, Enjoy...
