Log
This is a ND of the Steve Hoffman 1996 DCC remastered L.A. Woman by The Doors first released in 1968.
I have upgraded my phono stage to a battery powered Sutherland Ph.D and I thought Riders Of The Storm would be a good test of how quiet the phono amplifier is.
Before converting this mint copy to FLAC the record was cleaned on a Loricraft Pro cleaning machine using L' Art du Son cleaner. It was transcribed on an SME20/2 turntable with SME V arm and Koetsu Rosewood Platinum Signature cartridge to a Sutherland Ph.D phono amp and on to a Steve Huntley modified Audio Research LS22 tube pre amp. The ADC was an e-mu 0202 and the sound was captured on Audition 2. All cables are Grover Silver reference. Monitoring was via a Slimdevices Transporter and Audio Synthesis DAX Discrete DAC, Krell FPB400cx power amp and Wilson Benesch speakers with Velodyne DD-10 sub-woofers. Encoded using FLACfrontend 1.1.4 (for some reason dbpoweramp will not decode these 24/96 files to WAV - you will need to use FLACfrontend).
No post processing, just what is on the vinyl at 24/96. People ask me for de-clicked or CD friendly versions but I am not into doing any of that. I will provide a full un-messed with copy of the music and leave it to your judgement/taste as to what you want to do with it. Full artwork at 600dpi is included.
