Medusa
The apex of Glenn Hughes (vocals/bass, later of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath), Mel Galley's (guitar, later Whitesnake) and Dave Holland (drums, later Judas Priest) - Trapeze, Medusa is an excellent album of thudding, complex, and funky (A trait Hughes would keep throughout his long career) hard rock stompers and beautifully pensive ballads. Medusa is a absolute touchstone of Proto-Metal, 70's Hard Rock, and Funk Rock. As well as a true must have for any self respecting Deep Purple and Black Sabbath fan as the band is such a huge part of their family tree. This is probably the best album most of you have never heard of from the best band that most of you have never heard of. A bona fide five star classic that really should be a part of every rock music lovers collection.
