Exivious is a heavy metal band, featuring former members of American progressive metal band Cynic and current members of Dutch band Textures. They released one self-titled album independently. Exivious incorporate heavy metal riffs with a jazz fusion approach to phrasing and time signatures, complex rhythms and free improvisation. In May 2010, after selling out of their limited edition box, Kruidenier announced that Exivious had disbanded. This came due to differing schedules and commitments that the members were facing inpidually. In December 2010, Krudenier and Zielhorst departed from Cynic due to logistical problem with the band that is based half in the US, and half in the Netherlands, reforming Exivious in the process. A new album is set to be recorded in early 2012.
