Told through the words of great visionaries, "To Shiver the Sky" reflects the power of human spirit; illustrates a relentless need to explore the universe and defy earthly bonds, ultimately claiming a place among the stars. Scored for tenor, soprano, early music trio, chorus and orchestra.
"To Shiver the Sky", is "an oratorio about the history of flight, and mankind's quest to conquer the heavens," explains Tin. The ambitious 11-track album will also mirror that story with the parallel evolution of Western classical music. Tin ultimately settled on eleven historical figures which are "our greatest astronomers, inventors, visionaries and pilots," he details. Each of whom serve as the basis for a composition, adding up to a kaleidoscopic epic that crosses centuries, continents, and perspectives.
Scored for tenor, soprano, early music trio, children’s chorus, adult chorus and orchestra, notable guest artists include Danielle de Niese, Pene Pati, ModernMedieval, Pembroke College Girl's Choir, Royal Opera Chorus, the Assembly, Anna Lapwood, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Christopher Tin).
