Mensch, released in 2002, is the 20th music release by prominent German rock/pop artist Herbert Grönemeyer. Mensch (“Human”) is Grönemeyer’s 11th full-length album of original compositions.
Mensch is the highest-selling album in German history. Herbert Grönemeyer recorded the songs after a long hiatus, during which he mourned the deaths of his wife and brother, both of whom passed away within the same week. As a result, the album features some of his most emotional songwriting to date, as well as a marketable mix of ballads and German rock.
