От автора: Liminal Space – The in-between space where dreams and desires form. A threshold of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness. A time of waiting between what was and what will be. Where healing and transformation occur. The present moment.
"I have been consistently moved deeply by so many different elements in "Liminal Space." The minimalist approach of Kevin’s lovely and subtle melodies, for example. And the sustained quietude and spaciousness of the textures, even as he creates such a wide variety of those textures — from sustained chords and/or voices, to gorgeous harmonies done sometimes with very few notes, to the widely varied and sometimes more abstract sounds behind the melodic figures. All elements work together smoothly, with each composition unique and beautiful, each in its own way.
The feeling of the whole is of simplicity, while the layers of the sounds and/or the sequences of them demonstrates considerable aesthetic complexity, depth and strength, and conscious but not self-conscious artistry. And that complexity is subtle; it in no way draws listener-attention outward, nor does it detract from the sustained quietude and the smooth and varied melodic figures in the foregrounds.
The effect of the whole album is truly uplifting, nourishing and energizing, not in the adrenalized excitement-mode of so much popular music, but in the ways of quietude, meditation, and the sweet opening of the inner eyes to psycho-sonic beauty that grows deeper and higher with each new listening."
