Об альбоме (сборнике)
This performance of the Saint-Saëns Symphony No. 3 (Organ Symphony) is a favorite Living Stereo release. To say that it is incredible might be an understatement. The original 3-track session tapes were used in mastering for the LPs & SACDS in this Analogue Productions reissue series. The record reveals all of the glory of the recording & the precision & passion of Munch & the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Boston’s Symphony Hall. It doesn’t get any better than this.

I have this recording on SACD, the Classic Record pressing & now this. When I 1st got the Classic record version I thought “WOW!”. Even wrote a review for it on this site. However, now that I’ve listened to this latest remastering effort, the old Classic Record sounds tonally wrong. In the new version, all the instruments sound just right. The, drums, the crashing cymbals & the pipe organ…oh that organ…. it sounds…well…like an organ! In comparison, in the Classic release, the organ sounds like unconsolidated background vibration. The new version has Instruments clearly placed around the sound stage & everything is just clearer & sounds more like the real thing. Definitely the best mastered version of this album by a long shot. If you’re a fan of this album, you can’t go wrong.
