Miyuji Kaneko
Miyuji Kaneko was born in 1989 to a Japanese father & a Hungarian mother. At the age of 6, he moved to Hungary alone to study under Zsuzsa Cs. Nagy at the Bartok Elementary School of Music. In 2001 at the age of 11, he was accepted into the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, skipping grades & studying with professors Gabor Eckhardt, Gyongyi Kevehazi, & Rita Wagner. He has won 1st prizes in many international music competitions, including the 2008 Bartok International Piano Competition. In 2013, he recorded Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 at Abbey Road Studio in London with Kenichiro Kobayashi directing the London Philharmonic.

The tradition of recording it simultaneously remains (as it has been done on the Piano Pieces vol. 1). This recording was done at a different venue than the 1st disc but every bit of ambiance was beautifully captured. My preference is still with the 1st set of tracks done with M-50C microphone. No matter, young Miyuji Kaneko plays it with passion & superb precision. If you like piano pieces, this is the disc to get for an evening of enjoyable listening session. The same rules applied. Play it back as loud as you can.
