Minardi challenged Bach's solo cello suite three times in his lifetime. The first time was for English Decca from 1948 to 1950, but the first to the fourth were recorded (CD: 1 & 2 are not CD, the third & 4 are POCL-4718 [discontinued]) All songs were not completed. The second time was a monaural recording (CD: PROA-59 [discontinued] → re-released as DG40036 in 2013) to German Alhif in 1954-56.
