For this first world recording of the Mozart Trio K 442 which Robert Levin has completed the unfinished work of Mozart, as he previously did with the Requiem, the pianist is accompanied by totally involved artists including the violin superstar Hilary Hahn and the most appropriate and relevant cellist for chamber music: Alain Meunier. As a bonus, the wonderful Trio K 496 as a thrilling conclusion of the recording.
After divertimentos Mozart composed his first so called piano trio 1786. If the three unfinished movements are from this period or an earlier moment in his live is not sure. Anyway, pianist Robert Levin completed the movements according to his exceptional knowledge of Mozart’s music and his genuine style. Together with Hilary Hahn and Alain Meunier he provides performances of high quality.
