The nom de plume of Leeds-based singer/songwriter Joseph Lyons, Eaves' melodic, minimalist, and melancholic folk invokes names like Fionn Regan, Villagers, Bon Iver, and Nick Drake. Lyons, who cites such diverse influences as Joni Mitchell, Opeth, Neil Young, Mastodon, and Father John Misty, was raised in a musical blue-collar household and began playing piano at a very young age. After switching to the guitar, he began writing his own songs and playing in his friends' high-school prog rock band. After attending Leeds College of Music he began posting his songs online, which eventually caught the ear of esteemed London-based independent label Heavenly, who signed the young artist in 2014. Recorded at London's Voltaire Studios with producer Cam Blackwood, the resulting What Green Feels Like was released in the spring of 2015.
