Villebrad biography
Swedish outfit VILLEBRÅD was formed late in 2004 by brothers Erik and Påhl Sundström. Their main goal was to create Swedish pop songs with a compolex and experimental foundation - or art pop if you like. Prior to the band formation the brothers had been members of band performing electronica, death metal and progressive rock, and to some extent elements from all these genres has been brought in to the sonic and compositional palette used by Villebråd, as well as influences from musuc they like to listen to themselves.
Their first effort was the self-titled EP Villebråd from 2005, and in retrospect is regarded by the band members as an effort were they were trying to find their way in terms of stylistic expressions.
2006 saw multi-instrumentalist David Malmberg joining the Sundströms, and towards the end of the year they had finalized their full length debut album. In early 2007 they decided to sign for Swedish lable Transubstans Records, who subsequently issued their inital effort ?Alla är här utom jag?. Later in 2007 the band expanded the membership to four with the addition of bassist Petter Broman, and soon after started recording their sophomore full length production.
Early in 2009 Transubstans Records released their follow-up effort Ultrarapid, and around this point in time the band added a fifth permanent member as well, in the shape of keyboardist Stefan Gadnell.
