Bleak, bone-chilling field recordings of a children chorus and old people singing warabe uta/children's rhythms from the northern Aomori region of Japan. Produced by renowned poet and Aomori native Kyozo Takagi, this is an absolutely stunning collection of recordings that nails the imagery of a desolate and cold mountainous region that characterizes the prefecture. In this record, he guides the listener back towards his musical and cultural roots of forgotten and long extinct bleak rural traditions. The end result is a snapshot of a decaying world.
