Tubert's note
Over the last few months I tried to rip this near mint pressing 3 or 4 times but it wasn't til I got the Shure V15 and switched to the Sylvania output buffer tubes that I was able to squeeze some fidelity out of this wax. It was also a bitch to balance as the left channel was down almost 6db from the right. I downed a CD rip for a reference and did my best to center it but it's still all over the place. While the left channel being down so low was a new problem, trying to center an old '6os stereo mix wasn't. I have several Kinks LPs where Ray's voice is centered on one track, left-center on the next and right center yet on another.
In the end, I'm very happy with this rip. The biggest improvement over the CD is Arthur's voice. He now has a body! There are a few minor clicks I couldn't remove but that's not surprising considering there are plenty on the master tape itself! In particular is the last 2 minutes of the last song.
