Об исполнителе (группе)
Hailing from Saint-Petersburg in Russia, Bop is a new breed of producer intent on re-writing the rulebook with an intoxicating ice-cold sound; embracing influences from deep house, dub techno and IDM through to minimalist dubstep and ambient drum & bass.
Bop made his Med School debut with the stunningly beautiful “Song About My Dog” single which was swiftly followed by his impressive debut album “Clear Your Mind”. Returning in 2011, Bop's second album “The Amazing Adventures Of One Curious Pixel” expertly weaved iconic 8-bit chiptune sounds and deep, pumping house beats with raw, undulating basslines and slo-mo funk / jazz inspired 170bpm grooves to create his very own blend of existential electronica.
Об альбоме (сборнике)
Med School’s longest established artist, Bop’s first album “Clear Your Mind” was released in 2009, and followed up in 2011 by “The Amazing Adventures of One Curious Pixel” which recieved rave reviews. On this, his third album, Bop progresses his sound even further with a consumate collection of tracks which brings new influences to the ‘Microfunk’ genre for 2014 and beyond. 14 tracks of new music including collaborations with vocalist Elsa Esmeralda, Russian compatriot Diagram, and Autonomic star Synkro.
Each track develops as the pure artistic vision of Bop himself, who will not compromise or dilute his sound for the masses. He explains: “for me it's like cutting off a leg or a hand of one of my children - very complicated and unexpected surgery”.
