"Clannad" are one of the most notable events on the Irish music scene.The history of this family ensemble began in the late 60 's when Mair (vocals, harmonica), Paul (guitar, percussion, flute, vocals) and Ciaran (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards) Brennany appeared in his father's bar "Leo's Tavern".Later young boys began to accompany their uncle, Padrjejg (guitar, vocals, mandolin) and Noel (guitar, vocals), Daggany and unnamed kollektiv never got the name "Clannad".In the year 1970 the ensemble took part in folk festival in Letterkenny and won the Grand Prize (a contract with a recording company).The debut album, released in 1973, showed musicians worthy guardians of the Celtic musical traditions, although the arrangements of songs sounded quite modern.
