Notes
A1 Kirwani One5+8Five
Tabla accompaniment is provided by the eminent player Pandit Bickram Ghosh.
Also hailing from Calcutta, Ghosh used to play regularly for Ravi Shankar,
has worked with Ustad Ali Ukbar Khan, and was jamming with George Harrison before his untimely death.
A2 JD2 Pillusion
Jerry Douglas is famed for the use of the resophonic Dobro guitar, a kind of amplified acoustic model
that blends intimately with Debashish's lap steel timbre.
A3 Indospaniola
Flamenco guitarist Adam del Monte appears on the third track, and the result portrays all the dramatic
fire and stamp of Spanish guitar mixed with that luxuriously mysterious edge of Indian raga form.
B1 A Mystical Morning
Here John McLaughlin peppers "A Mystical Morning" with delicate interjections that showcase his intimate
knowledge of Indian modality spun through with his jazz rooting. Debashish's crystal-clear metallic string
tone pierces across the texture, softened at the end of each phrase by oscillating pitch bends.
McLaughlin's more muted toned guitar engages in a dextrous question-and-answer sessions with Debashish,
scaling and skipping over the fret board with unbelievable agility.
