前苏联小提琴家，大卫·奥伊斯特拉赫的学生， 1966年获比利时伊丽莎白国际比赛第三名，从此开始扬名。1969年参加蒙特利尔国际比赛获第二名，同年在帕格尼国际比赛中夺魁，次年在柴科夫斯基国际比赛中再夺魁，轰动世界。克雷默的舞台演出因卡拉扬与之合作布拉姆斯协奏曲而达到高潮，1980年移居西方。克雷默的指法轻松灵敏，善于表现艰深的乐段，他演奏的巴托克、普罗科菲耶夫、雅纳切克，都显示出极高深的技巧。他与阿格里奇合作的贝多芬奏鸣曲和与梅赛伯格合作的舒伯特奏鸣曲等，也获佳评。
