结束【My One And Only Thrill】近两年全球宣传巡回后，Melody Gardot宛若人间蒸发，沉潜三年的她前往世界各地旅游，并将所见所闻融入新音乐创作，催生了2012年的【The Absence】，这张作品不若以往自溺惆怅，“对人们来说，音乐就是赞颂生之欢愉最好的型式……”她自己是如此形容这张从生活出发乐观正向的作品。
