简介：
Salvo has done another wonderful job in their reissue of the Procol's Ninth album with participation by Brooker and Reid . Remastering adds a wider and deeper soundstage than the Chrysalis lp . I don't know why this album is titled RA on Amazon ?
There is some wonderful music here , esp. side one. It's great to enjoy this album again sounding even better.
As mentioned in the notes the band decided to go with legendary team of Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller after hearing what they did producing Stealer's Wheel " Stuck In The Middle With You " album .
The brass and horns are tastefully part of the fabric of the material and were supervised by GB . As per the interesting notes a young David Sanborn is one of the performers . Rather than being pasted on, they add to the songs and fit very well.
The only downside being, and it's a huge one I think, is that Chris Copping's role on organ is pretty diminished unfortunately as he brings a lot to the table. Not enough room for him with the horns in that song space.
The biggest hurdle most folks agree is the inclusion of 2 cover songs which seems out of place on a PH album although Gary Brooker and the rest of the band for that matter really nails their version of "I Keep Forgetting" .
As bonus tracks the covers would have been great but seem out of place
