Lisa是来自美国印地安那州的民谣歌手。Lisa做了一张叫做*On The Way Down From The Moon Palace*的专辑，它是一张在家里头自己录的专辑。这张专辑让她和Capitol唱片公司签了一张约，这样她又可以做一张专辑，就叫作Happiness。没过多久，4AD的老板Ivo Watts-Russell在Lisa的演唱会结识了她，并且要求 Capitol把*Happiness*的英国代理权卖给4AD。很快的，Lisa和Capitol很快的了解到双方并不适合再继续合作下去，於是Lisa到了英国正式加入了4AD，4AD将*Happiness*於以重新混音并且配上V23所设计的封面推出，当Capitol所坚持的封面These Boots Were Made ForWalking则被封杀。 Happiness是一张销售非常好的专辑，不要等到你听到她的第三张专辑Geek The Girl之後，也许才能真正发现到Lisa的才能所在。这是一张充满痛苦和精神发泄的一张专辑。后来曾经为 John Mellencamp和Bob Seger当小提琴手，并与Billy Joel ，Simple Minds ，Iggy Pop合作过。
