This album and I got off on the right foot and I'm forever grateful. Instead of writing it off as a last ditch in Can's long discography, I put it in my car and let it ride. There are some winning moments on this album. "Like A New Child" is now one of my favorite songs. Can were never a band to take themselves too seriously, and there's a wonderfully playful side to a lot of this. The late 80's super polished synth atmosphere is tempered with Malcom's casually avant vocal delivery and the whole mess settles down to something unique and lovable. Jaki was doing cool stuff in the 80's, so it's nice to hear him here. I think this album gets lumped in with Can's lesser works. Not in my house it don't!
