Just simply awesome in scope and complexity & texture. Beautiful arrangements. Killer mix and production. Stunning strings & killer brass. Rhythm is tight. Highly recommended if you enjoy Third Stream orchestral Jazz. The first 5 tracks just blew me away. I have not stopped playing this CD in my vehicles since acquiring it. If I switch cars, this CD comes with me. I buy a lot of music, but once in every 7-8 CDs, one hits me as this album did. Others can detail what makes it so unique from a musician's stanpoint far better than I, but I will say it is exquisitly executed. Every time I play it, I get something fresh & new I had not discovered before. It is that multilayered. Jim inserts some very tasty keys work but it;s the orchestra thta takes center stage. I have never heard a large orchestra SWING like this ever. For discriminating listeners who enjoy complexity yet listenable sound in a orchestral yet modern Jazz context.
